A scuttlebutt is a barrel of drinking water kept on the deck of a ship. Sailors would gather there to chat, much as office workers do at a water cooler. Over time, ‘scuttlebutt’ came to mean ‘rumour’ or ‘gossip.’ Have you heard? This wine is fun and approachable, with snappy flavours of grapefruit, guava and fennel, plus a hint of tomato leaf.
