The captivating 2019 In The Hills is co-fermented with 8% Viognier that shows a pretty white floral aromatic profile. With more air, layers of iodine, wet stone, red currants and menthol tones all brilliantly combine on the nose. The palate is lithe, fresh and also very viscous, with a serious veil of tension that runs through the brilliant core of red fruits. Balance here is paramount. This presents itself as seamless and smooth throughout the drinking experience, with light tannins holding everything in place. Fantastic to consume in its youth, this gorgeous Syrah bottling is already quite beautifully evolved and will surely cellar well for another decade to come. Score – 95.
