Mauritson Positas Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Positas is a gravelly loam formed in alluvial material, most commonly known as ‘benchland.’ 2016 Positas Cabernet Sauvignon (100% Cabernet) was aged 22 months in French oak. It has a deep ruby-purple color and scents of dark chocolate-covered cherries, pencil shavings, red cherry sparks, iron and beef drippings plus dried herbs and leather hints. The palate is medium to full-bodied with lifted, mineral-tinged fruits with firm, lightly chalky tannins and good freshness, finishing long and minerally. Very pretty.
