A wildly herbal and near Amaro red fruited malbec that speaks to place as much as anything else in this wine. The McNally Vineyard makes for red fruit of a swarthy but oh so natural savour, life raspberries in syrup that has been made aromatic by star anise, cassia and clove … This vineyard sheds more citrus and bitters in the red fruit it grows, whether pinot noir or malbec and so the VA number acts higher as a result. Drink 2020-2023. Score – 89. (Michael Godel, winealign.com, Nov. 2020)
