Rocca di Castagnoli Poggio a’Frati Riserva Chianti Classico 2017

The 2017 Chianti Classico Riserva Poggio a’Frati is a heady, expressive wine that is just showing a hint of its potential. More than anything else, I am impressed with the wine’s energy and vibrancy, which was a bit hard to come by in 2017. Bright, saline notes lift a core of sweet red berry fruit, chalk, white pepper, mint, sage and dried flowers. The flavors are so vivid in this super eloquent Riserva from Rocca di Castagnoli.
