There’s something rich and savory yet still confectionery about the 2016 Crosara that keeps your nose to the glass. Brown spice, dusty florals, hints of ginger and currants form its inviting bouquet. This is silky and enveloping with mineral-tinged red and blue berries, exotic spices and a suave character. The harmony here is noteworthy, coming across as poised and finessed, yet full of sapid fruit and brisk acids that add depth. The 2016 finishes long and spicy, leaving fine-grained tannins to linger. There’s so much potential packed into this varietal Merlot. Drinking window: 2024-2034. Score – 95+. (Eric Guido, vinous.com, April 2022)
