Meerlust Pinot Noir 2021

A big step up on the 2020 release, this early picked Pinot Noir shows the freshness of the 2021 growing season. Perfumed, refreshing and detailed, it’s arguably the best release yet from Meerlust, partly because it’s now made from younger, unvirused vineyards. Sensitively wooded in 50% new oak, with bright red cherry and raspberry fruit and savoury tannins. Drink date: 2023-2030. Score – 94. (timatkin.com, South Africa Special Report 2022)
