The Négrette grape variety appeared in the 12th century under the name Mavro (‘black’ in Greek), brought from Cyprus by the Knights of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem. A blend of 85% Négrette, 10% Gamay and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, this pink wine evokes violets and dark fruit and is ideal for leek pie or tarragon chicken.
