Château Rauzan-Ségla 2019

Savoury black fruits from the first attack, this is well structured, in the line of the 1st wine here. It has confident deftly-drawn tannins and overall a serious feel of a wine that balances its coffee and smoked cedar notes with slate minerality and a mouthwatering sappy finish. Impressive, a little subdued right now, but this will undoubtedly soften and deepen further over ageing. Drinking window 2024-2039. Score – 93. (Jane Anson, decanter.com)
