The Lorenzo line is made up of three malbecs from blocks at the same altitude at the winery’s property in Agrelo, although they differ in their exposure to the sun and soil types. This LoBendito comes from a hillside with a northeastern orientation, which is a warm exposure. The soil is slightly drier and poorer than the other two, which is apparently part of the reason this wine seems so concentrated and vigorous in its tannins. The fruit is black and ripe, although not to the point of becoming cloying or off balance. Quite the contrary – this is a full-bodied wine but with firm acidity that works to provide balance. What’s more, the flavors are deep, and the sensation of juiciness, delicious. [Drink until 2029.] Score – 95. (Patricio Tapia, guiadescorchados.cl, 2022)
