Domaine de Courteillac Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

This has full body and plenty of supple tannins for the humble category, but there’s a certain brightness that helps it carry this load rather well. Just a bit chewy at the bold finish with a hint of bell-pepper, alongside the ripe fruit. A blend of cabernet franc, merlot and cabernet sauvignon. Score – 90. (jamessuckling.com, Feb. 3, 2019)
