An easy-drinking expression of Barossa shiraz, boasting a regional DNA of ripe cherry, boysenberry and fruitcake spice, gently caressed by violet florals; corralled by a waft of oak and some bitter choc-coffee-bean tannins. These wines have evolved beautifully since the last time I tasted them, but perhaps that is as much of a reflection of Australian wine as a whole. More effortless drinking. Better extraction. Less hard edges. Drink by: 2023. Score – 92. (Ned Goodwin, winecompanion.com.au, Aug. 1, 2019)
