Plumper and a little plusher than the 2018 release, although everything is relative in the cool climate region of Traiguén, this is the best Pinot Noir yet from Pancho Baettig. Made with three clones – 777, 828 and a Gevrey-Chambertin selection – this is particularly impressive for a wine from a vineyard that’s only eight years’ old. Spicy, dense and compact, with 15% whole bunches, stylish oak, plum and black cherry fruit and some volcanic grip. Drink date: 2022-2028. Score – 96. (timatkin.com, Chile Special Report 2021)
