The 2016 Il Brecciolino is an unusual blend of Merlot, Petit Verdot and Sangiovese. All the signatures of the house style come through so well. I especially admire the interplay of richness and energy. Grilled herbs, dried flowers, menthol, licorice, cedar, sweet tobacco and red cherry all build as this wonderfully complex and intense Tuscan red shows all it’s got to offer. Drinking window: 2021-2030. Score – 94. (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, March 27, 2020)
