Maison Louis Jadot Les Embazees Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru 2021

This is aromatically similar to the Chassagne villages but with a smoky component. The rich, round and generously proportioned fleshy middleweight flavors possess a lush mid-palate texture that is borderline thick, all wrapped in a bitter citrus-tinged finale. This is impressive if somewhat atypical as the normal nuance isn’t present, yet my sense is it will develop with bottle aging. As such, my rating offers the benefit of the doubt that it will transform if given a chance. Drink: 2029+. Outstanding. Score – 90-93. (Allen Meadows, burghound.com, June 10, 2023)
