Chambolle-Musigny Les Charmes 1er Cru, matured in 100% new oak, has a slightly lactic, cocoa-tinged bouquet that comes from the wood. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and fine acidity, but it feels rather straitlaced and lacks the personality of the Gevrey Cazetiers on the finish.
