Churchill’s Vintage Port 1997

Still on the young side, with prominent flavors of licorice snap, plum sauce and black currant preserves. Hints of alder, toffee and toasted sesame start to peek in through the finish. Retains lots of brambly grip. Keep holding off on this one. 1997 Vintage Port retrospective (January 2017). Best from 2020 through 2035. Score – 93. (James Molesworth, winespectator.com, Feb. 2, 2017)
