Benguela Cove Collage Estate Red 2022

Released to market in a weighty glass bottle, the Benguela Cove 2022 Walker Bay Collage is an estate blend of 39% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Petit Verdot, 15% Malbec, 12% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc that represents a selection of the estate’s best-performing vineyard sites. It sees 18 months of barrel aging, with 35% new French oak. The bouquet shows darker tones of dark fruit, bitter tea and baking chocolate. An elegant note of graphite or pencil shaving also emerges to the front. Switching gears to the palate, the wine is silky and streamlined with medium-plus intensity. Drink date: 2024-2035.
