Carmim Terra Lenta Premium 2024

Sourced from a single vineyard, this is an attractive blend of three indigenous grape varieties: alicante bouschet (40%) and trincadeira and aragonez (30% each). It’s a deeply hued wine (essentially a ‘black wine’) that shows robust aromatic and flavour profiles of dark fruit (plums and cherries) with notes of spice and coffee. The weight is medium, and with its well-tailored acidity, this is a terrific wine for the table. Drink now to 2027. (Tasted December 2025.) (Rod Phillips)
