Cecchi Chianti is modest and food-friendly, with loads of Sangiovese varietal character. It shows aromas of red currant, spice, and leather. The palate is filled with floral, spice, licorice, cassis notes, balanced acidity, and soft, silky tannins. Sangiovese-based wines are excellent matches for tomato-centric dishes.
