Chanson Réserve du Bastion Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2023

Chanson is a historic house whose cellars occupy the battlements in the Roman wall that rings the old centre of Beaune. This is a generous, tidy and juicy young Bourgogne pinot noir with nicely lifted, classic scents of cran-cherry fruit, rose and well tucked oak spice and vanilla. It is a bit tart and tight, but sports great energy and intensity, especially at [just over] $30 which is about as low a price as you will find from Burgundy these days.
