Château Chasse-Spleen 2014

The 2014 Chasse-Spleen has a more backward nose than I recall, aniseed, tinged red fruit, just a touch of wild mint. The palate is medium-bodied with lightly spiced red fruit, well balanced and ferrous toward the finish with a spicy finish. This tasted better a few years ago but is still worth seeking out. Tasted non-blind at the Southwold 10-Year-On tasting. Drinking window: 2024-2032. Score – 90. (Neal Martin, vinous.com, March 2024)
