Château Latour 1985

The 1985 vintage is considered by many to be the second great one of the modern era (post 1980), surpassed only by the legendary 1982. It’s a vintage that saw plenty of rain during the growing season and record-breaking heat and drought at the tail end, making for wines of exquisite concentration and finesse built to stand the test of time. This marvel from Latour shows lovely crème de cassis flavours, with floral notes of potpourri and lavender layered over resolved tannins that last for minutes.[Falstaff tasting note not available.] Score – 94.
