Château Maucaillou 2019

Coffee bean and smoked vanilla spice on the nose, this is pretty full on with the oak but there are some attractive cassis and bilberry fruits underneath. Highly charged, forest floor stops it from being overly sweet. Should be good value also. A yield of 45hl/ha. Drinking window: 2025-2040. Score – 91. (Jane Anson, decanter.com, 26-Jun-20)
