Clos de Luz Massal 1945 Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

This is from a selection of old cabernet vineyards planted in 1945 on the Clos de Luz property, in Almahue, in the center of the Cachapoal Valley. It comes from a cool season, and you can sense that in the herbal and slightly mentholated aromas that predominate on the nose, although they give way to fruitier flavors on the palate. The fine – very fine – tannins underpin the body and juicy acidity in a fruity-style cabernet, ready now for smoked ribs. Score – 93. (Patricio Tapia, guiadescorchados.cl, 2023)
