Conde Valdemar Gran Reserva 2017

The 2017 vintage suffered a terrible frost, but what grapes survived were of high quality, if not quite concentrated. The 2017 Conde Valdemar Gran Reserva shows this big concentration of black fruit, black licorice, and underlying balsamic tones as well as a balance between the fruit and oak, resulting in a medium-bodied style of complexity. Still a baby, it’s drinking well and will benefit from further aging, with an ideal drinking window of 2027-2037.
