Domaine des Pères de l’Eglise Le Calice De Saint Pierre Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2019

Whiffs of rose petal and fresh raspberry are subtle yet thrilling in this wine. A blend of 85% Grenache, 10% Mourvèdre and 5% Syrah, it is full bodied but bright in composition, balanced by lip-smacking blackberry and crisp plum flavors. The long, supple finish is framed by ripe, cocoa-powder tannins. Delicious already, the wine should gain complexity through 2040 and hold further. Editors’ Choice. Score – 95. (Anna Lee C.
