The village-level Morey from domaine-owned parcels is a stark contrast with the négociant wine, with lovely, ripe mulberry fruit, a bit of smokiness from the cask ageing, and notes of rose petal and mineral. As you might expect, there is a bit more heft than in the Chambolle, more density, and a bit more grip. The grapes come from a total of nearly three hectares in lieux-dits that include Les Herbuottes, Les Porroux, Clos Solon, and Le Village, all picked on 25 – 26 September. Drinking window: 2025-2045. Score – 93. (Charles Curtis, MW, decanter.com, Oct. 31, 2022)
