Domaine Fond Croze Confidence Côtes du Rhône 2019

A 70-30 blend of Grenache and Syrah, the 2019 Cotes du Rhone Cuvee Confidence is a potentially outstanding effort from this reliable estate. Black cherries lead the way, backed by hints of dark chocolate and raspberries, while the full-bodied palate is round and ripe, yet brought into savory focus by mouthwatering acids and silky tannins. We’ll see what pricing is like and if tariffs have any effect, but given what this wine has sold for in the past, it should still be an excellent value. Drink date: 2020-2026. Score – 89-91.
