Massive fruit in every respect from an [under] $18 Rhône red that is thankfully neither hot nor boozy. Just the swells and deep well of berries, sweet and perfumed, ripe to the hilt and a Villages example so glaring you might want to don shades to dim the brightness of its illuminating light. Mon dieu how is this much fruit possible at this price? Mid-palate too with just enough saline-mineral chalkiness, liquid and fluid. Some might feel there is a sweetness to this wine but it’s natural and in harmony with the sneaky structure involved. Impressive and outstanding value. Drink 2023-2025. Tasted April 2023. Score – 91.
