Ellena Giuseppe Ascheri Barolo 2019

Reserved at first, this wine begins to wake up with soft and pretty aromas of sour cherries, wild raspberries, dried herbs, roses and dried underbrush. It’s compact on the palate, with firm tannins that will need time in the bottle to come around. Spiced flavors mixed with red fruit are wrapped around a core of compact earth that gives the wine a welcomed depth. [Drink: 2024-2036.] Score – 95. (Jeff Porter, Wine Enthusiast, Sept. 1, 2023)
