The 2019 vintage was one of Piedmont’s best in recent memory, with an early budbreak and long growing season full of sunshine and moderate rain to encourage ripe fruit. Largely credited with bringing Piedmont styles to the modern world, Gaja has produced outstanding wines based on the Nebbiolo grape using cutting-edge winemaking ideas and philosophies. This example was sourced from the regions of Serralunga and La Morra and will offer powerful aromas of sour cherry, rose petal, leather, tar, and dried oregano. It will last well into the mid-2030s.
