Product Details
The 2010 Finca Pena Lobera is Tempranillo with 5% white Albillo grapes from a single 80-year-old vineyard located at 880 meters altitude in a zone surrounded by forests on very stony soils. It’s aromatic, elegant and subtle, ripe and fresh at the same time, with subtle oak. The palate is medium-bodied and has soft, integrated tannins. This might not be exuberant or showy, but its inner harmony and sense of balance tell me this is a superb Ribera that should age and drink well for years, while being already approachable. For the quality it delivers the price is quite good. Drink 2014-2022. Score – 94. (Luis Gutiérrez, robertparker.com, Aug. 2014)
