I can not remember a better Henry’s Seven and that is a fantastic achievement considering the challenges of the vintage – maybe a little top drawer fruit even snuck in there from some of Henschke’s most famous vineyards. The wine is immediately engaging but also ethereal with white pepper, charcuterie, roasted meats and mulberry aromas. It’s not massively concentrated but that fits its bistro style perfectly. The palate is then fleshy and supple with tarry, liquorice and fruit pastille flavours before a lingering finish. Well pitched as a classy barbecue red. Drink: 2021-2027. Score – 93.
