I Fabbri Gran Selezione Chianti Classico 2018

From the cool, heady heights of the Lamole township, I Fabbri’s Gran Selezione may not have the power and sturdiness of those from warmer pockets, but it speaks eloquently and honestly of place. Owner Susanna Grassi crafts this only in optimal years from her oldest parcels with plantings dating back to 1969. The 2018 starts with cedar forest and chestnut nuances before divulging fragrant lilac and pressed rose. The palate is midweight and fluid on a backdrop of raspberry and currants.
