Laurent Ponsot En Ergot Cuvée du Meleze Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru 2019

Gevrey En Ergot was among the recent purchases of this domaine. The parcel is located in a well-placed section, carved out of La Petite Chapelle, which is downslope from Chapelle-Chambertin. The wine has a lovely richness and more ripeness than the other Ponsot offerings seem to have. It possesses an impressive density of dark plummy fruit and plenty of tannins, without losing the hallmark, beautiful purity of the Ponsot wines. Drinking window: 2021-2029. Score – 93.
