This LoSagrado Cabernet Franc, like the LoSagrado Malbec from the Lorenzo line, comes from vineyards with a cooler southern exposure, and that makes for fresher flavors in both wines. In this case, there are herbal notes that predominate at first and then give way to the flavors of ripe red fruits in a wine with tremendous acidic and tannic tension – there’s something electric here that keeps the attention on the palate. And then it gradually starts to seem redder and redder, firmer and firmer, nervier and nervier. It was vinified with a bit of stalks (winemaker Matías Prieto estimates about 20%), which further supports that fruity side. [Drink till 2030+.] Score – 96. (Patricio Tapia, guiadescorchados.cl, 2022)
