Mastroberardino Naturalis Historia Taurasi 2016

A wide spectrum of aromas here, ranging from crushed blackcurrants and raisins to toasted nuts, roasting herbs and black licorice. Full-bodied with fine-grained fruit and oak tannins that expand together with the fruit through the long, long finish. Loads going on here, but it’s all in balance and never heavy. Super aglianico that’s delicious to drink even now, but will age beautifully [until 2034+]. Score – 97. (jamessuckling.com, Jan. 8, 2024)
