From the Linderos zone in Maipo Alto, and planted on alluvial soils, this is a clear expression of place. The mentholated notes and herbal touches emerge forcefully from the glass, while the palate has those sharp-but-fine Alto Maipo tannins that gently prickle the tongue. The fruits are ripe and a bit sweet – a kind of concession to the house style – although that smooth, round, commercial Montgras style has not managed to take the sense of place away from this cabernet. It’s still a very good example of Alto Maipo cabernet. Score – 94. (Patricio Tapia, guiadescorchados.cl, 2021)
