Morey-Blanc Les Pitures Volnay 1er Cru 2021

A very pretty, even perfumed, nose freely offers up its aromas of plum, red and dark cherry and a whiff of crushed fennel. The solidly concentrated medium-bodied flavors are borderline painfully intense with excellent persistence on the chiseled, moderately austere and serious finale. If this powerful effort can add depth with time in bottle, it could well merit the upper end of my projected range. Drink: 2029+. Score – 89-92. (Allen Meadows, burghound.com, April 10, 2023)
