Nederburg II Centuries Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

First made in 2007, rather than 1816, this pure Cabernet comes from a single vineyard on the Simonsberg. It’s a smoky, dense, powerful wine with 80% new oak that’s definitely built to age in bottle. The fruit is dark, plummy and intense, supported by firm, but integrated tannins. Drink: 2017-2023. Score – 90. (timatkin.com, South Africa Special Report 2016)
