Here’s a terrific value from the slopes of Monte Vulture in northern Basilicata, an authentic aglianico, fragrant, herbal, spicy, leathery and dried black fruit-inflected in the regal regional idiom. Tannins are nicely refined at this stage, still appropriately grippy, and acids in place. Overall, the complexity is off the charts for an [under] $18 wine. Snap this up and drink over the next 2-4 years; tasty now, but no rush. Tasted June 2023. Score – 91. (John Szabo, MS, winealign.com)
