St. Hubertus has a long history, with gamay first planted in 1964 with followup plantings in 1990 and 1999, at 350-440 metres, over clay, sand, and gravels. It is fermented in a blend of stainless steel, French, and American oak. This is a darker, wood-framed gamay, with black cherry, dark florals, thorny blackberry, and ample pink peppercorn spice, with finely grippy tannins framing the medium bodied frame. There’s a lot packed into this well priced wine, one to pour alongside grilled ribs or vegetarian shepherd’s pie. Score – 88. (Treve Ring, gismondionwine.com, April 28, 2022)
