Peter Lehmann Mentor Limited Release Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

Old PL, as he was known to all and sundry, was a mentor to so many Barossa winemakers. He was simply one of the great men of the Barossa. This is a wine demonstrating that the region is not all about Shiraz. In good years you get a wine like this – balanced, poised and powerful, with style. Loads of blackcurrant and dark chocolate with a thread of steely oyster shell adding to the tannin profile. Love it. Drink by: 2024-2039. Score – 96. (Ray Jordan, winepilot.com, July 2024)
