Pian delle Vigne Brunello di Montalcino 2008

The Antinori family’s Brunello estate has seen ups and downs in terms of wine consistency over the past five years. But 2008 delivers an honest and nicely concentrated expression that seems to benefit beautifully from the slightly warmer temperatures in its lower altitude vineyards. Dark chocolate, cherry fruit and barbecue spice appear on the finish. Score – 92. (Wine Enthusiast, May 1, 2013)
