Named for the extinct volcano Monte Vulture, Aglianico del Vulture has volcanic soils and is renowned for its rich, powerful, tannic wines. This one is big, generous and ageable, with ripe dark fruit, pepper, herbs, spicy oak, and an ashy/flinty minerality. Pair it with grilled steak, spicy barbecued sausages or grilled eggplant.
