Tempranillo from vineyards above 800m on sandy loam soils planted in 1989 and 1991 in Ribera Del Duero. From a hot and arid vintage out of which experienced wines do well to not merely survive but thrive. Both full and burgeoning with texture and spice made readily averrable after 12 months in deliverable barrel. The created effect is filled with coffee and dark chocolate but also piques of pepper on the fruit at moments when this is made available. Classic really, with purposed acids, a decade worth of tannins and plenty of length. Drink 2023-2027. Tasted May 2022. Score – 91. (Michael Godel, winealign.com)
