After the drought- and frost-stricken 2017 vintage, 2018 was a welcome return to form for the region of Montalcino. Vineyards experienced ideal temperatures, bountiful sunshine and little rainfall, making for silky-smooth, fresh wines with complex flavours built for the long haul. This one is drinking beautifully now after an hour in the decanter and has the gusto to survive well into the mid-2030s.
