The single-vineyard Ca’ del Merlo red blend brings together the local Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella varieties along with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Nebbiolo, Croatina and Sangiovese. Half of the fruit is pressed immediately after harvest, half is dried for two months, and the entirety of the wine undergoes a ripasso-style second fermentation on Amarone lees before spending seven years in Slavonian oak barrels. Expect complex fresh and dried berry embroidered with cocoa, tar and spice notes. Drink through 2032+.
