Roche de Bellene Les Toussaints Beaune 1er Cru 2017

Beaune makes a more open-knit, broader and generous style of Burgundy, very evident here. The quite intense nose shows ripe bright sour cherry, licorice, spice and hay/dried herbs. It is medium bodied, warm, sour-edged and quite powerful with fine tannin. The length is excellent to outstanding. Best now to 2030. Tasted January 2023. Score – 93. (David Lawrason, winealign.com)
